The Kingdom

If you enjoy action movie, this movie is your sort.
If you always concern of the endless wars in lotsa hostile countries, you will be interested in this movie.
If you are curious what is the thinking of the citizen living in chaos, and even the secret power behind which force some people to risk their life for something they believe are worthy, I guess this movie can give you some idea as well.

Jamie Foxx, one of the current best actors in Hollywood, is the main attraction for me initially for this movie, but then I knew I will like it after a few scenes in the beginning of the story - it tells you the story in middle east, the disputable role of US in this place, the different thinking and story of Saudi Arabian, and of course, the force which makes both US army and t*rrorist to fight for the justice they believe. Most importantly, this movie is sitting on the fence thoroughly, no particular stand in either party, no religion discrimination and no US ego which I never buy it.

Kingdom1gv3725573_1
I can't help shedding my tears in the last scene, when the Arabian officer, Colonel Faris sacrificing his life for the faith he believes - peace. Colonel Faris is my favourite character in this film, because he believes in peace, regardless of anything. He is a warm-hearted mankind who disagree in simply taking people life, which is so contradict with those cruel "masked warloads" who are willing to risk others life for their own benefit.

"What did you tell her that day?"
One of the FBI agents asked Officer Ronald what did he tell Officer Janet to comfort her of losing their teammate in a well-planned attack.

"What did grandfather tell you when he was dying?"
The daughter of the General Al Abdulmalik asked her lil girl after their compound demolished by FBI and her father died.

"We will kill everyone of them."
The same answer of both of them. The endless war.

Fusion Haven

Fusion cuisine, the cuisine with a style of cooking that uses ingredients and techniques from around the world, especially one combines Eastern and Western influences. I'm a food lover, I alwiz wanna try different kinds of great food, but then, fusion cuisine is alwiz EXPENSIVE, or high-end where you might need to spend a few hundred bucks per meal, but hey..... I've found one, I mean, it's introduced by my food kaki, but it's the great one, the great cuisine with the reasonable price!!

I paid a visit to the restaurant in Sri Petaling on a Saturday night, wishing to get something special and delicious, and yes, I got that!!

Look at what we've ordered:

Dsc00201

Appetizer: Vietnamese Baked Mussels, it's full with ginger taste and unique. Not so fatty but still, I prefer the mussel with lemon sauce in Fish & Co. :p

Dsc00200

Main course 1: Milan Style Fried Chicken, luv the special made sauce, and guess what, the lil orange brown thing is RICE!! Cool huh~~

Dsc00202

Main course 2: Japanese Miso Spicy Baked Butter Fish, oh, I luv the spicy miso thing paired with the fish. It suits gal because it's in small portion. =)

Dsc00205

Dessert: Chocolate Mud Cake with Ice-Cream, you can see the chocolate flowing out from the mud cake when you cut it, yummy~

The food served with "style", and they're undeniably delicious with a very acceptable price, although the dessert is a lil bit too sweet for me. :)

We managed to chit chat with the boss, and hey, he is one great cuisine lover too!! He is a friendly and funny man, the funniest thing is, he dislike and he does not believe in occasion promotion, such as Valentine Dinner because, "I do not feel good to earn double on occasion while at the same time, limit people the food choice," he said. "Let them choose what they like to eat."

I'm glad that he is a food lover than a restaurant owner, and I'm glad that I got the chance to know it - FUSION HAVEN. =)

Way Back Into Love

I love music, I mean.... great music (for me), but you might find something "weird" with me, that is, 90% of the albums I bought are.... ceng ceng ceng~~~ ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK.

Movies with great music totally blow me off, and I will do everything I can to get the soundtrack for my collection, but still, I couldn't get "Moulin Rouge 1" until now.... :( My friend even can't get it for me in US... sob sob.

Anyway, that's too far from what I wanna share today, ahem.
There is another soundtrack which I likeeeee.... MUSIC AND LYRICS!!
Coz... coz coz I'm a fan of Hugh Grant!!! (ohhhh.... mature handsome charming MAN!!) and "WAY BACK INTO LOVE" he sing along with Drew Barrymore, omigod, the song is sooooo sweet. =)

You might wonder why the heck now only I blah so much about the soundtrack of this old movie?!
Becoz, I accidentally heard this song from the radio when I'm on my way back from office, and suddenly the sweet feeling just engulf my soul.... especially after another hectic day. Argh.

Hugh Grant, you rock!! Never thought that you can sing that well!!
But of course, still have to improve the skill compared with MY EWAN MC GREGOR. :p

Yummy Yummy Journey

Well, I know I gained weight recently... my puffy face is getting more and more bulat, but then, who cares? Let me complete my Hari Raya yummy yummy journey!!

Yummy yummy 2nd round:
Went for brunch with YJM's family in the "Long Dek Qun Yan" restaurant in One Utama. We had ra-mee, fried rice, claypot rice, the legendary Siu Long Bao and hey, my favourite fried durian dessert!!! Yeah!!
The food is undeniably delicious, including the soooo common fried rice, but it is indeed tasty!! But somehow, I'm kinda disappointed with the Ra-mee... erm, not my sort probably. The Siu Long Bao tastes good as usual, but ceng ceng ceng, here comes my favourite, the FRIED DURIAN DESSERT, omigod omigod, it's really finger-licking good :p (luckily no one took the picture of my greedy face :|)

*For dim-sum lover, there is one nice and cheap dim sum shop at PJ SS2, its name is "Tian Xin" - Sweetheart, not bad, should give it a try, but then, I was kinda disappointed with the "Tai Tong" noodle and dim sum shop.... aiks, thumbs-down.

Yummy yummy 3rd round:
Housemate's gf was here, she was looking for the traditional thai fried kangkung for sooooo long time, and hence, we brought them to the 100% original thai food stall in Jalang Gasing!! We had the 100% thai fried kangkung, the tomyam fish, cashewnut chicken in yam basket, the famous tradiational food "Cha Ong" and my favourite, SEAFOOD TOMYAM!! Wowwww..... I ate and ate and ate, can't help obsessed wif tomyam tomyam, hehehe...

For thai food lover, this stall is a very economic place for thai food, it's not expensive at all, and the food is great!!

*Anyhow, not really fond of the fish though*

Yummy yumm 4th round:
Just took a stroll in The Ikano, no where to go, just had our dinner at Kluang Station. The coffee is great, as usual, but then I was kinda surprised by its soooo ordinary fried beehon, the Kluang Siam Beehon.... wow the bihun indeed tastes good!! I enjoy having ordinary cheap delicious food, instead of luxury expensive unaffordable cuisine (becoz I am so damn poor :p)

Anyway, what a shame that I did not take any single photo of 'em, becoz..... I had no time for tht :p I couldn't wait enjoying my food served rather than taking pretty photo for them, keke. So now, it's your turn to search for nice food and introduce to ME!! Go go go!!

Yummy Yummy

Today is the greatest festival of our Malay buddies, and also, MA HOLIDAY!! Weeee!!

So, in order to "celebrate" my great day, I lazed away my time on my lovely bed for half day.... and being "forced" to take a stroll in Midvalley for some personal reasons. :p

So, the consequence of the "Midvalley lepak-ing" is... I spent a lot AGAIN!! :(
In order to comfort the fragile me, YJM offered to buy me smth sweet for tea-time. *winkz*

Picture4As I reached the little corner called "Sweetchat", I can't wait to rest on the cozy couch.... omigod my poor little feet.... and wow, there are quite a lot of people queue up, hmph....

Picture3Few minutes after that, wow, here comes my favourite durian pancake!!! Can't wait to telan 2 of them before I remember to take a picture of the little delicious stuff, heh. Omigod.... I LOVE DURIAN FOREVA!!

And here comes the dessert, the black glutinous tong yun!! Nice!! Anyway the tong yun is half-biten in the picture... so... kinda ugly, but it's indeed nice!! Don't judge a book by its appearance, k? :p

So, another thumb-ups tea time corner for me, what about you?

Sweet Sweet Pals

6th of Sept 2007, a just-so-normal day for everyone out there, but it's a special & warm & sweet sweet day for us!! 7 of us were having a gathering in SS2 straight away after work. We cracked jokes together, we laughed and threw away all sadness, we listened and marah sama-sama while others complaining about their works, we vent out everything without fearing being back stab. And this is what genuine friendship means. :)

4 years of Uni studying life, we were bond stronger and stronger, we've been thru thick and thin, we quarrel, we argue.... but when anyone of us is enduring sadness, all of us will do anything we can to help, and yes, we worry about him/her just like his/her mum, but yalah, it's also because of the 8-gua-ness, lol.

Treasure every friend beside you, it's not easy to find a trustworthy friend in your life, and for us, I believe that the friendship will never end. :D

Love Actually

I'm a movie lover, and undeniably a music lover as well. I'll fully indulge myself in great movie and music, to the extent that I think life is perfect with their existence. And I have to admit that, I really "diu tok" (kena racun) with my favourite movie ever after, Love Actually, so is its OST, which I've bought few years ago even tho I was so darn poor that time.

3fabf26810a5c381_2I LUV christmas, maybe it's becoz I was born on Christmas Eve. *winkz* And this, is one of the reasons why I luv Love Actually so much, it's all about LOVE, every linked story happened counting down for Christmas. To be frank, I watch this movie over and over again every year counting down for Christmas, yes, I NEVER get bored.

Liamneeson_loveactually_1 I luv British English, I think it is SEXY. I luv movie softly gently talking about every little thing in life, in relationship.... everything, for me, it's warm. I luv movie with great songs and music at the proper timing. And thus, I luv Love Actually, with lotsa talented British actors/actress, with the OST featuring Dido, Texas, Lynden David Hall, Norah Jones, Gabrielle, blah blah, and CRAIG ARMSTRONG!! *Oh, I just luv the Glasglow Love Theme composed by HIM soooo much*

Love_actually_2I feel love in this movie, and I do hope that everyone can be like them, expressing our love to everyone around us in such a sweet way. :p

Love actually is all around.

Miss You. Take Care.

It's 11:30pm now, and you are flying to Bahrain soon... 4 more hours to go.
I miss you, I have been missing you for quite a long time, since we never talked to each other, since you started to ignore me.
But I just want to say that, I'm really proud of you.

You told mum that you want to live your own life, and you want to decide every single thing in your life, and you made it!! Now you're in your favourite field and you're going to grab everything chances awaiting for you, with the support of all of us.

It's kinda funny... or maybe it's just a coicidence that, our relationship eased and improved whenever you're going oversea.
Remember the first time you called me from UK? The phone call is the greatest present for me throughout the year.
And I still remember that we kept emailing each other since the call, you told me about your life in Europe and everything... and still, I keep the mails.

Afterall, another misunderstanding spilt us away. You refuse to listen any explanation from me, I was so upset, but I told myself that, one day, you will understand... because love is the universal language that no one should ever mis-interpret it. And now, I'm just so happy that finally you answered my call half an hour before, and from the way you speak, I know that finally you're willing to listen to me, and your message which I received 15 minutes before is the gift which put the smile on my tired face now. =)

Finally, take a GOOD care, ok? Call mum frequently, she will be waiting for your call everyday, just like any mother worries for their children. Call me, whenever you need me, and I'll be there for you, no matter what.

And he said:" I guess this is because you have to work on this weekends, again." Ya, and hey, I'll meet you in the office on both days, yeay. :D *Tiong Seng, don't be a 25 guy by informing your master about this, I know he is an alien though*

I had been skipping swimming exercise for 2 weeks, and I just went for my gym class once in the last week.

All of these are because of one single reason, OT OT OT OT OT SUPER OT.
I have dinner, sometimes I skip it, at around 11pm everyday now.
I took bath at around 11:30pm now, slept at 12:30am and wake up with eye bags at 7am.

For working fellow, you might have the same life too, so... good luck. For student, APPRECIATE your life now, you are going to miss your school life sooner or later, keke.

No Pain No Gain, wow, what a great motto of life, I believe that this is what urge us to WAKE UP, and GO TO WORK as usual everyday with a CHEERFUL MIND. I'm enjoying my life with this WONDERFUL quote. *_^

Memories in Hong Kong

What would you think of while mentioning Hong Kong?

Egg tart? Disneyland? Ocean park? SHOPPING? Or Lei Kar Sheng?!

Well, for me, Hong Kong is not really impressive... maybe the super hot temperature is part of the reasons... it's summer now with 34 degree celcius, super hot!! No boots no jacket, everybode wear sleeveless short pants and sport shoes everywhere, and still, you sweat one second after you step out from air-conditioned room.

Ocean Park doesn't really impressed me as well since I have to walk around and play under the hot sun!! Argh.... but well well, to be honest the deep sea creatures are quite impressive, the hammerhead shark, stingray, dolphin, and of course the famous sea lion Wai Wai which had been starring in quite a lot of Hong Kong drama series.

P1020059Anyhow, the night scene view from Victoria's Peak is superb!! Besides the luxury bungalows on the peak, the enchanted night scenery from the peak is breathtaking as well!! But then, the price of the dinner in every single restaurant of the peak is sky-high... :| luckily we found a Burger King in one of the floors :D otherwise.... sob sob, we'll have to go down from the peak with an empty stomach. ;(

Picture_216So, if you ask me, what would be the most impressive memory for me in Hong Kong? I will say, airport. Despite of the great location of the airport (It's surrounded by the sea :D), the point is....... I've been caught for bringing illegal WEAPON!!!

I've been traveling around without awaring that I'm bringing a pepper spray in my handbag... I mean I've been bringing this with me to at least 4 countries.... and stupid me, I never know that it's an illegal weapon in Hong Kong. When we passed through the custom, an officer stopped me and checked my handbag, I was still quite calm since I "KNOW" I am not a cocaine smuggler... but then, the officer become tense as he saw a pepper spray in my bag... I was still wondering, so what the heck? Just throw away lah I don't care. But then he ANNOUNCE my crime seriously that:" Siu Je, now we are suspecting you bringing illegal weapon in Hong Kong, we'll call the police now and they might accuse you blah blah blah."

I was like... WHAT?!!!! ACCUSE?! No no no, I'm no a Hong Kong citizen and I don't know about that, and omg, would you put me in jail or something? The officer was soooo fierce and he just took me to a security checking corner with lotsa people looking at me like I am bringing a bomb.... later on, a girl officer came and scolded the guy:"Hey, you don't scare her can ah? She is just a visitor and you just don't scare her, k?" Another office came and comfort me:" Don't worry, we understand that, actually many tourists made the mistake, normally if you never did anything wrong in Hong Kong then they will just give you a warning, nothing one, don't worry." Ohhh, I really appreciate the comfort and greatest help from both of them.

Sooner, 6 policemen came (?!) for investigation... aiks. But out of my expectation, all of them are soooo friendly and nice, one of them talked to me:" Miss, can you speak cantonese?" Oh ya ya, I can. He looked soooo released knowing that I can speak cantonese:" Wah, hou hou, ng sai geng ahhh.... mou si gehh.... jeng hai procedure jeh." Phew.... they asked me about my occupation, checked my record in Hong Kong blah blah, and they finished everything within 15 minutes, ya, some more they can grab the time to chat with me to make me relax:" Wah, lei ge gong tong wah ng co ohhh.... lek lui wohh." "Ok lah, hang dak lah, bye bye lahhh, gei dak ha ci ng hou dai lah." As what I know, if i'm ever bring the pepper spray with me again in Hong Kong, I'll be charged.... phew....

What should I say? I think it's better to blame myself for being stupid and also, I think I'm really impressed with the professionalism and high efficiency of officer and policemen in Hong Kong, you guys are great lah.... since I'm still able to catch up my flight.

Good bye Hong Kong, really good bye, coz I don't think I'll go back there again, ciao.

Nui Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains)

Marbles_boulderpk Mountains are everywhere in Danang, and yet, Nui Ngu Hanh Son are a well-known feature of the landscape of Danang and Central Vietnam.

From Wikipedia, Marble Mountain (Vietnamese: Nui Ngu Hanh Son "Five Element Mountains) is a cluster of five marble and limestones hills located in Ngu Hanh Son ward, south of Danang city in Vietnam. The five "mountains" are named under the five elements Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth).

100_3478 100_3477

100_3479

Although I'm not really fond of marble, but yet I have to admit that, the stone sculpture making, stone cutting crafts, marble carving and wood carving are amazing!! Anyhow, they are pricey too where one small marble bowl might cost you few hundred USD, wow!! I'm obsessed with those marble telephone set.... but yet, nice to see, nice to hold... blah blah blah.... no money, better don't touch. End up I bought two littel little little marble fishermen sculpture for 10USD, argh..... *money money money money.... money*

Oh ya, there is a legend about this cluster of mountains, that the sea dragon came onto the shore and laid an egg. After  one thousand days and nights, the egg hatched and out stepped a beautiful young lady. The broken shell fragments grew larger until they were transformed into five separate mounts that was named after each of the essential elements constituting the universe by a king of the Nguyen Dynasty, and here they are, the five elements as mentioned above.

Anyhow, I hope that there won't be huge destruction here.... I hope not to see such a beautiful natural land-form transformed into scattered stones few hundred years later.

Caffe-Sua-Da

Caffe-Sua-Da, means Iced Milk Coffee in Vietnamese.

It is a famous or so-called common drink in Vietnam, and you can find many coffee shops in every single province in Vietnam no matter how rural the province is. There is a wide range of coffee shop as well, from those rows of chairs along the dusty road *ya.. yam cha while yam-ing dust*, or medium-class coffee shop in residential houses, or up to grand coffee house with car-parking service.

100_3393

Instead of coffee, they serve Cha-Nong (Hot Tea) or Cha Da (Cold Tea) as well, but coffee is an unique thing that you can't find in any other country (maybe) where the "method" that they use to serve you is really different. A small drip filter with coffee powder to be brewed on top of a cup with condensed milk inside. You have to wait until all of the brewed coffee flowing into the cup, then gotta manually remove the filter and then only put ice into the cup to make an icy drink.

100_3394

I have no comment of the erm... EFFECT of the "method", but well, at least you can curi tulang a bit while having a coffee break on working day. ;p

Had been very busy for these few days, hopefully can take a chance to taste the famous coffee in Vietnam - Weasel Coffee in this few weeks. Waiting waiting, hehe....

Hanoi

Finally, I reached Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam. Once I stepped on this land, I feel peace... ya, it's a peaceful place for me... and it's more or less like a developed version of Cambodia, with the continuous car honks, the incredible traffic where thousands of motorbikes, lotsa pedestrians and some cars move on the road regardless of traffic rules or traffic light.

We're here to settle some urgent issues of operator, and because of that, lotsa Malaysians are being assigned to be here.... and that's great!! We had our luxury dinner at one famous local restaurant which serves great and famous local cuisine. We had the famous spring roll, their specially-made pork, beef, "bon cha" (Mihun soup), and some special prawn roll with mint leaves.... their foods are always decorated or come with mint.... ya, they like mint.

Along the way walking back to hotel, it's considered quite safe, but still have to watch out for some stalker.... not sure what's their motive but just have to keep an eye on them.

Tomorrow I'll be flying to Danang - the 3rd biggest city in Vietnam, hopefully I can find another story there, ciao.

Hamster's Diary - Swimming Like A Fish!!

Finally I've finished my 13 swimming lesson!! Weeeee!!!
Well, swimming might be an easy task for anyone of you, but.... it WAS nearly a mission impossible for me. =(
If you do not believe it, here are some people you might ask for:

1. One of the snorkeling guides in Perhentian (actually all of 'em) *ahem* are very scared of me. WHY? Becoz I nearly tear off their shoulders and made them drown into the sea while trying to drag me back to the boat. :|

Please be noted that, I was with my life jacket on that time, but still I panic and struggled like hell. :|

2. One of my friends who WANTED to teach me swimming last time. As the first step, she asked me to step into the 5-feet pool, I did, and I screamed: "Wuah, so deep!!! I wanna get up!!" Then... she asked me to soak myself into the water while pulling the sides... and you know what? I did not dare to do at all.... not even once. >.

“The New Seven Wonders of the World” 之一的吴哥窟
(Angkor Wat)

(Banteay Srei)

“You want to buy T-shirt?” “You buy from me?” “I give you discount.”
Khun.”
“I don’t want candy, can you give me pen? I need to in school.”

“I give you flower, I give you luck, I won’t forget your smile, please do not
forget me too.”
“Post card, one dollar.”

“Good luck.”,我衷心地祝福他们,good
luck

Blood Diamond

10m_1If you think you look so darn elegant and glamorous with diamond necklace or ring or any accessories, watch Blood Diamond and think again;

If you like to show off your how many carat of diamond ring to your colleague or pals, yes, watch Blood Diamond;

If you think one's status or so-called beauty is reflected by the diamond or any branded stuff you're wearing, I tell you what, money isn't make you looks prettier while knowledge and kind heart are the things you should have;

If you think Africa is so far away and none of your bloody business, go read any book related to starving African or tribal war which happened so frequent in Africa;

If you think I'm just another stupid fella who is wasting my time because I cannot change the world, well ya, I know I that I'm just nobody and I ain't going to rule this world, I just do what I can do;

If you're interested to know more about African poverty and wish to offer some helps, log on to any website of World Relief Emergency, there are many ways to help them;

If you know what can we do to help them more, please share with me because I'm still a shallow fella and I need someone to guide me;

If you think Africa is too far away to help, yes, we can start from here, do donate your old clothes and old stuff to orphanage and there are some people to collect and distribute in PJ SS2 every 3rd Sunday; Buy tissue or biscuit from those disabled instead of buying Toto every week, and remember to put the money nicely into the money box with smile on your face, your smile would brighten up their second of life;

If you think I'm too much, so sorry about it, and this is me, an odd ball, and don't worry, we still can befriend, haha...

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying

10095I’m a person full with questions in my brain since I was a
child. I woke my father up in the middle night just to ask him where would I be
after I died, I seek for the answer why did god create us while only allow few years
lifespan for us to stay on earth, I wondered why there are so many religions in
this world and does it means that there are different heaven and hell for each
religion, I questioned god why there are so many unfair phenomenon in people’s
life where some people live in poverty, struggling with war, famine with their
body bared, while some other might enjoy their luxury life in the other corner
of the world, spending plenty of money just to get one fashionable jacket with
animal fur on their shoulder.

Plenty of issues brought me to learn about Buddhism, and
certainly there is a fate for me to read this – The Tibetan Book of Living and
Dying. One good thing about this book is that, you don’t have to be a Buddhist
to read it; it’s for all of us, regardless of religion.

It talks a lot about living and dying, of course, even
elaborate the details of dying process, and teach us how we should face the
death. BUT, the most valuable knowledge that I’ve learned from it is not about
death, but it’s about the proper way of living.

I believe that death is not the final destination of life;
hence, we shouldn’t ruin the world harshly just to get the natural resource for
our own sake, knowing that it will cause irremediable consequences to the
earth. Knowing more about the Circle of Incarnation and Sangsara, it’s
explicitly shown that we should always let go some silly and unnecessary
thoughts which are the root causes for all sorrows. Knowing more about Karma,
you will know that everyone must responsible for every single thing you’ve
done.

It’s always hard for us to forsake our long-time-existing
habit, even though we know that they are silly. But it’s always good for us to remind
ourselves to live with a peaceful soul everyday, and not to be stubborn,
selfish, and greedy. May this world full with love and peacefulness.

(The Confession of Pain)
